Hi! My name is Lauren and I am 28 years old and Charm City has always been my home sweet home. I bought a house three years ago as part of my “independent woman” effort and quickly learned that Baltimore is hardly a charming place. Luckily, my experiences here have provided plenty of funny stories to share.
Am I charming? Mostly. I am sarcastic, I cuss a bit and sometimes I drink too much wine and fall down or manage to tuck my dress into my underpants (hey, it happens to the best of us).
I hope you enjoy my silly stories and reflections and that you will share your writing and comments with me. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Smart writing. Hate you a little. In a good way.
And speaking of unintended tucking: http://wp.me/pJdsk-bl

I like your style Lauren, I may have to hang around and look through your archives a bit. If that sounds kinda dirty it is because I was trying to sound kinda dirty.

Nice having a link straight to Poetry on your page! Looks great!
Baltimore is one of those places where you are walking, enjoying the nice urban quaintness, turn the corner and realize that your life is seriously in danger. You must have a very good sense of humor to thrive there. You’re braver than me!
I do, and unfortunately, I know that you aren’t kidding. Thanks for stopping by, Daniel.

Well. Thank you.
yeah you’re charming especially you got stunning eyes
Thank you

What’s your fave & least fave parts of Not-So-Charm City?
Favorite places? Probably Fells Point (bars) and Hampden (artsy fun culture) and least favorite is west Baltimore (scary).
Stuff? Favorite is seafood and Ravens and least favorite is heroin junkies knocking on my door at night.
C’mon, my neighborhood isn’t *that* scary, La La. The sounds of gunshots and dogs barking are rather soothing. lmao
If you get a chance, you should checkout 713 W. Pratt St (just below MLK Blvd). It’s a cool cooffeeshop/internet cafe called “Peace & A Cup of Joe.”
How did I guess the charmig city you spoke of is Baltimore. More power to you honey, as I’m originally from D.C. I can’t decide which is more charming- S.E. or Baltimore St.
You feel me….haha. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Very beautiful, and what a sexy collarbone…..Lol
My collarbone is my most popular feature.
Thanks for stopping over and following my blog! I hope to stop in some times and you are welcome to do the same (duh!). twinkly
Bmore in the house! I was combing through Weebles’ birthday wishes, watched your vid, checked out your blog, and voila…in this big old blogosphere, we are neighbors. I used to live in Federal Hill, playing kickball for Mothers’ and barhopping like it was my job about 10 years ago. Since then, I have moved up to the county, as so many of us do who want to raise children without fear of getting mugged or shot. Just wanted to say a neighborly hey hon. ps. how ’bout those motherfucking ravens baby!
HI! I was working in Fed Hill when I read this. I live in Hampden and grew up near Towson. What fun!! I am coming to check you out promptly. On the interwebs of course.
Many Many Moons ago I stumbled into Baltimore.. Lived in Silver Spring for a few years.. I thought it was wonderful well parts of it anyway.. I look forward to reading your adventures my dear young friend!
I just moved to Bmore almost 3 years ago. I clicked “follow” for this blog.
Sarcastic? Not possible. I’ve never had the tuck the dress issue, but have managed to find that invisible speedbump in the floor several times.
Are you on Twitter? I want to tweet a link to your hilarious vajunk post & include your handle if appropriate. I’m @1chicklette.
@acharmcitychick and you are AWESOME
It’s my pleasure–important to share when you read something good/fun/enlightening.
Wonderfully written. I lost my twin sister just over a year ago and completely endorse what you say. Good can come from out of it (though I still obviously miss her so). Enjoy life and good luck 🍀
Good luck to you as well. That must be difficult for you and I hope you’ve been healing and seeing the wonderful things in life. Best to you!
La La,
I don’t how I stumbled upon your blog, but I’m glad I did.
Amber.
Why hello! Thank you
